In school, how did you feel about classes in history and government?

I felt that America is so arrogant that it presumes it doesn't need to know any history about anything other than America itself.
Pathetic -huh.
 
I didn't like history is high school, but I liked it in college when I had the right professor. I had one who brought the people to life. History has to be taught in a way that makes it interesting.
 
I remember as a senior in high school discovering that there was a state legislature and a national one. Like we are in the 33 district but also the 7th. Huh? My learning curve began when I left school and started plowing thru the real world.

I tried to visualize it for myself like in most classes. The teachers always seemed to see the things they talked about so passionately, I just wanted to see what they saw.
 
Some, but not as much as I do now. But I think that a lot of my interest in history and government happened when I met my husband - he is a history professor. I get an education on topics daily. . . especially when some of the idiots on here spout stuff that pisses off my husband.
