Hi there,

I am a recovering prescription opiate addict, however I am proud to say I have been in recovery since May! I had a lot of help and support from a therapist and now that I am splitting my time between two cities, I am not seeing my therapist as often. I truly believe that I can and want to stay sober, but I wanted to pop in to this board and introduce myself and hopefully get some support from people who know what it is like and what a struggle this truly is. I am happy to say I haven't been having any cravings, but I know it really is one day at a time. I dealt with a lot of emotional issues through therapy, which I honestly feel was behind my need to use drugs.

In any case, I hope to be a part of this community and give everyone hope that they can and will be able to do this! I really feel it's important to have a support group as this is one of the hardest things someone can do. And, often your loved ones blame you or pull completely away because they don't know how to deal with the situation. So, I am here to lend a sympathetic ear and help in any way I can.

All the best,
Susan
