In Pirates of the Caribbean 4, did Syrena eat Philip Swift?

I saw it last night with my sister and we were arguing about this all the way home. My sister said she probably ate him but I said they loved each other too much.
Syrena said she could save him if he asked, but he didn't, he just wanted forgiveness, she kisses him and drags him under with her. Didn't they say that a kiss from a mermaid can save you from drowning? So does that mean he's going to live underwater with her??
Do you think they'll be in the next pirates film?
 
They are discussing a 5 and 6th one based on the reaction to this movie.
I'm hoping they actually explain it!
I highly doubt she ate him. A kiss from a mermaid can prevent you from drowning. So I think she took him underwater, and he could still breath. I'm assuming she took him to their mermaid home and had someone cure him? Or she turned him into a merman? (when I asked this question someone suggested that the twinkling sound suggested him transforming.) Or maybe her kiss alone cured him?
I think she took him asking for her forgiveness as him asking her to cure him.

So basically, I'm 90% sure she took him underwater to live with her, and that she cured him. But I'm not sure if he's a mermaid or human, or how she cured him. But there will most lively be another movie, so I hope they clear it up!

Yes, there will be a 5th film. If you stayed to the end of the credits they gave a hint of the next film.
