In other news...

I have to use Windows at work. None of us in IT really want to continue using MS, but so far there hasn't been an offering (open-source or otherwise) to sway *management* into giving it up. It will be a long battle but hopefully we will prevail.

If anything SUSE (distributed through Novell) provides a fantastic alternative and a tremendous cost savings ($50 per desktop vs new computers + MVLS). The real problem is finding a viable alternative to Outlook; there really isn't anything that can displace Exchange that offers all of the features we need.

As long as MS doesn't purchase any competing companies and marginalize all of said company's employees in the near future (there are far too many companies that fall into this category to list), I'm confident there will be an alternative or a mutli-platform Outlook.
