I'm only 14 turning 15 next month going on year 12 anyway....I just don't want to go to school for a while........can I concentrate on working? Or it isn't allowed here in New Zealand because I'm only 15 and education is compulsory....I just wanna take a little break and maybe save up for my uni... -_______-;oops sorry didn't notice I put it in Australia category

In New Zealand the school leaving age was 15. However I understand that in the election last year John Key had a promise to keep people in school or training. I don't know if this promise has been implemented yet, but if so could make things on your part a little more difficult.Even if you could, I wouldn't recomend it. You can forget stuff in a gap year, and it may be hard to re-enrol and adjust to school life (and if you want to go to uni you will nedd to do year 12 and year 13). And as for the need to save for uni, a part time job can do, and since we have interest free student loans (for NZ citizens) you don't need to save that much anyway.

wow you are young to be going into year 12. were you put up a year?well i think you have to be 16 to finish school and even if you don't, i would seriously stay and at least finish year 12. you could then have a year off and go back for year 13. you are in the same year as i am and are still young. if you stop now, you will find it very hard to get back into the school work. why not wait maybe till after year 13 and have a year off then before going to uni because then your secondary school education in over and you are more likely to earn a higher wage as you will be older and people will be willing to pay you more especially due to the economic recession at the moment.if you do this, you will end up with a better payed job in which you will earn money for uni quicker and easier.hope this helps! =]
