I have a ca.1930's King of the Road bike lamp that is battery/generator powered. I have no idea how to install the battery. The battery is a 1289 4.5v "boxed" battery with two brass arms coming out of the top of it. Heres a link http://www.smallbattery.company.org.uk/sbc_3lr12.htm

The inside of the lamp has a fixed bracket to place the battery and under that is a current arm that I have no clue what it has to contact. I have already tried to play around with it. But, all I get are sparks. I don't want to end-up ruining something else.

Any help?

I really doubt that battery is going to fit a 70 year old bike light. They didn't even have that kind of battery back then. Can you post a pic of the unit?
