Alrighty. I'm 17 and looking into buying a road bike so I can use it for getting around in college and possibly getting competitive (most likely to train for races and tri's ) .
I have a $500 allowance maybe a little more if I "squeeze" it out; and i'm not allowed to buy used since they can't be trusted (according to my parents; however I do not think this way, but it can't happen so its not an option :/ )
What brand would be the best for me? What bike? ANY pointers would be greatly appreciated, because I am beyond lost/confused
