in my psychology essay in which i have to discuss a media report?

i have to discuss a media report in relation to three empirical articles concerning a psychological argument regarding the hypothesis that higher levels of testosterone lead to a higher sex drive. in the marking guide, it says i must explain the psychological application. what does this mean?
 
Sounds like comparing apples and oranges to me. Testosterone is a chemical, and thus can be experimented with to find out the results. Weather the chemical has or doesn't have an effect on ones sex drive, can be measured making any psychological argument, in my opinion, is pointless.
