mode, or the shiftronic manual mode? It feels like the manual may be a little bit better, but they be because it's jerky, and not because it's any faster than the regular CVT.

I have also observed that at high speeds the acceleration seems to be faster in regular CVT automatic.

If you can help me out, I would really appreciate it.. Thanks in advance!
Would you reccomend using manual until it starts to lose acceleration and then switch it to auto?

ALL automatics (CVT or conventional) are PROGRAMMED for a mix of gas efficiency and power. So you will NEVER get as much power as from manual shifting.

So you can get more acceleration because you can "leave it in low" longer (I know CVT doesn't have low, but it will stay in low ratio longer).

But it does take a little practice with these new tiptronics / CVT type tranny. You have to anticipate the redline and shift a little bit BEFORE it gets to redline. Otherwise the engine will get to redline, the engine will be self limited, and THEN shift, making the car little bit slower than shifting while still accelerating. CVT is little bit smoother and faster, but it is still true.

Good Luck...
