In media, why is violence so acceptable and nudity so frowned upon?
Particularly in the main stream entertainment industry of movies and tv, violence is an accepted feature, it is normally quite graphic and disturbing whereas nudity (particularly male nudity) is rare. A nude person is surely less of a negative influence on society than someone getting shot. And when there is some nudity 99% of the time it will be a woman. What about something for us girls. The only movie i can remember of recent years with male nudity was "sex in the city" and that was a mere glimpse, why can't we have more (tasteful) male full frontal nudity. And i'm not talking about porn - that is not tasteful.

Yeah they should do that more often. Because truthfully no one would or should care that much since the body is a natural thing. Violence on the other hand, isn't and it can persuade so many people to do things they normally wouldn't, especially if they're mentally ill.

Your question is tantamount to asking "Why is Dante's volume on 'Paradise' so thin and his volume 'Inferno' so vast?" The media sells a lot more copies when violence is reported rather than the good points of human behaviour. And the violence shown in so many episodes of so many serials that originate in the US of A, conditions people to such acceptance of the gun slinging population of that country.
