In mass Is it possible to be on probation and ot need to have a job?

okay i wanted to know if keeping a job is ALWAYS a term of probation? like is it possible to be on probation and just stay out of trouble?

Or say your terms were to do a substance abuse program and complete 100 hours of community service and once thats over with i could just lay low until my probation ends?
