So this is the scenario I was in a few days ago:
I'm wrestling at 152 against a kid who is ridiculously strong but had an awfully slow shot. It is the third period with about a minute and half left and I'm losing with the score at 4-2. I have to take the guy down and score at least one back point to win or at least take him down to send the match into extra time. We are both completely drained of energy and are practically standing up because we are too tired to stay in stance. My shots aren't the fastest and my opponent was probably twice if not thrice as strong as me. I summon what's left of my energy to take on last shot, but the other guy sprawls back. At first I had his leg and all I had to do was either turn into him to get him to a hip or step up on the outside and get behind, but his hips are too heavy and I didn't have enough energy. He continues to settle his hips back and he is too heavy for me to either finish the shot or back out so I could re-shoot. So all he did was ride out the period and won 4-2. So my question is, is there anything I could've done to get around the sprawl from a position where I am on both my knees trying to step up, my head is on the inside (or outside) and the other kid has extremely heavy hips on my head, but I somewhat have a hand or both hands on the leg still?
I am probably on the weaker side of my weight class. Many of the kids I wrestle are either stronger than me, or taller than me, or both. So I rely more on my speed and flexibility.
The help is greatly appreciated because I find myself in the situation quite a lot, so Thanks in Advance.
Also, just to clear something up, the other guy wasn't trying to get behind or anything, as far as he was concerned, he had already won and all he had to do was keep me from finishing. And he was too high for my to reach up and grab his arm to do a dump.
