I see the pictures of them working with pickaxes and a guard standing there with a rifle. Did the prisoners have to ask permission when they had to go to the bathroom or could they just go and they were trusted not to take advantage of the privelege. I imagine that there might have been problems with prisoners going over to a tree by the forest, as if to do their business, and then running off into the forest and escaping. Does anyone know the answer to this question?
