In French, how do you say "The eccentric characters make the film unique"?

I'm talking about the film Amélie, and I want to talk about how the characters being so eccentric are what makes the film unique and a joy to watch. So how do I say:

"The eccentric characters make the film unique"?

I think it is "Les personnages excentriques rendent le film unique" but I really don't know if that sounds too franglais or I've used the wrong verb.

PLEASE don't just use babelfish or something. I could do that myself if I wanted to. I need actual French speaking people to help me with this. Thanks ^^
 
You can say "Les personnages excentriques reflètent l'aspect unique du film" or "Le caractère excentrique des personnages ajoute de l'unicité au film et le rend unique et spécial."
Lol no, it's okay, you didn't use the wrong verb, but there are quite better ways to say it I guess x)
