Let's say for instance you see a wooden fence. One plank of that fence is a few shades lighter than the rest of the fence. You can bet that exact plank will come into play when, let's say, a dog moves it and pokes his head out looking for a cat. This seems to be very common and I've noticed it since I was a kid but didn't know the reason the animators do this. Can you tell me?
