Is that a customary way to get a cab in London, one of those black famous London cabs I would suppose?
My concern is if I travel from UK to Germany and then want a taxi cab in Germany, my right-hand open palm will be mistakened for a Hitler salute, which is illegal in Germany and you get arrested for making a Nazi Gesture.....
so as an American before I venture off anywhere in Germany, I will start with UK where I'm a bit more comfortable. Then maybe some British people can give me alternative ways to grab a cab that can't be mistakened for the Nazi Salute so I don't get arrested in Germany?

the worst I would think is an unmarked police car posed as a cab. And then all I want is a cab and it pulls up and I tell them "Take me to Heathrow, in this case Berlin Airport..... only to find out it's taking me to the Police station, you know? I don't want that to happen to me.
