Ok

Awoke on Sunday.
Hugeness of the pain veriety lower back right.
also on the right hip
the pain is now shooting down the back, and outside of my right leg
coming and going a lot, also the knee and the calf muscle

No pins and needles or anything, just like cramp is about to start, but never does. pre-cramp pains is all I got

Saturday I had to help put the nets up at a pre-season game (Im a soccer boss in the UK, and had to jump up to hook the nets up, awoke Sunday with this pain

back, hip, back of thigh, knee and calf...as I say, its like cramp is about to set it, but doesnt...pre cramp pain if you like
most pain full is about 8 inches down from my knee, just on the inside of my calf muscle on the side of my lower leg

Trapped nerve?

Being serious here folks, in a bit of pain.
Really in some discomfort here, cant sleep :(:(

I am registered Disabled with Left Knee and Lower back issues as it is.
Just a wee bit of background info

This is the worst pain I have been in for a while, and playing Soccer I have broken bones. As I say, its like the onset of cramp, but I do not get cramp

Hey Shauny,

Welcome to the healthboards, although I am sorry of the circumstances.

My advice is that whenever you are in such pain that is disabling, time to see the doctor. Since you mention that you are already disabled with the knew and back issues, you already have a doctor in the field, but not that can help you right now...

That means the Emergency room Shauny. I am not familiar with the medical insurance setup in Austrailia, but I would get yourself right in, get some imaging done, and pain relief.

Please keep in touch, I am interested in what happens next...janet

just considering the overall symptomology here and the fact you already just "know' you DO have low back issues, i would have to definitely agree with WL up there in getting some imaging done at least at the lumbar level and possible lower T too? ya just NEED that one good 'look see' into where the symptoms would simply 'track back' to in the spinal? and a good contrasted MRI would truely be the very best type of baseline testing for this.

you can either seek out an ER or see your primary doc and get that referral for the contrasted MRI. like i said, actually getting that good "look' into the most likely area that would be generating the type of symptoms just IS the very best place to start when trying to really Dx anything actually. your symptoms just very much DO sound like spinal nerves shooting out lil angry signals from 'something" that can always make us go insane when it involved the spinal nerve roots? just get that MRI done and i am pretty certain that the generator will more than likely show up on THAT type of a scan being done.

ya simply cannot appropriately even begin to fully 'treat' what you just do not know yet what that bigger issue simply even is? and make CERTAIN to always always obtain your very own copies of ANY types of testing results from any tests done on you just for YOUR own medical files to keep at home? this also allows YOU to also read thru your own results as well since not all docs, esp the "specialists" will simply even tell any given patient like everything that WAS found and placed into that back page summary of the findings? it also helps YOU to simply be able to give that summary info to places like here on HB where most of us who post in either the back forum or the spinal just HAVE a ton of info from their own MRI experiences and can help you to better decipher what your actual true findings are too in that report? believe me, it IS soo much easier to see anyones MRI summary word for word than someone trying to explain findings would be? mostly because of the way any given radiologist chosses to even 'word" specific findings, like certain words used?

but DO try and get that contrasted MRI done, i just think this would be the very best test to start out with in looking at that spinal level on down to the nerve roots and cord level? given what you described, i just really DO feel that there IS a 'something" sitting back there withiin your spinal and sending out the signals.

good luck and please let us know what you find out. FB
