Spinal stenosis and scoliosis

For about 6 weeks I've had new lurabar back pain, with pain levels at about 6 or 7. The pain has mostly been in my back, but standing or walking accerbates it and also creates pain in my legs. Any chores that require a "back and forth" movement like folding clothes, cooking, doing dishes causes the pain to get worse. I do get relief lying down for awhile.

I have seen my pain management doctor and he's ordered an MRI and an appointment following with him tomorrow. Now, here's the problem - - since yesterday I have been so much better than now I'm wondering if I should follow through with the appts tomorrow or call and cancel them. Has anybody had something like this and what happened?

In my opinion you should still keep the appointments. There were days when I had good days and then there were those bad days. You said the pain level was 6 plus. SounRAB like moderate pain that has kept you from doing things. My opinion is to be safe then sorry. See if anything is going on. This way you will know one way or the other as to what had been going on. seek help now before it gets any worse.
I have been thru 6 spine surgeries and feel its best to know whats going on. If you are in pain then there is something going on. Good luck!

Thanks for the encouragement. The pain has definitely been limiting. I think it's just like when you make a dr appointment for your child and about time to go they begin acting like everything's okay.

Pebble,
So glad I kept the appt. Those two pain free days were the only ones I had, and since yesterday the pain has jumped higher. The MRI showed a couple of possibilities for the pain - back is essentially a train wreck, but nerve openings are not even showing up in three places and there is a large area of inflammation on my spine. So here we go with injections first and then who knows?

Thanks again for your input.

Glad you kept the appointment as well. Keep us posted on how you are doing. Hope things get better for you.
