In a 55 gallon tank could i keep 2 kissing gouramis, 2 discus fish, 2 clown loaches

Well, you probably already know that discus need pristine, perfect, amazing living conditions centered around them, and kept with no tank-mates in a school of a minimum of 5 or more...They are also commonly sold at like $50 a fish...

Kissing Gouramis can grow to 12+ inches, but they will probably do fine- as long as you keep them without any other tank mates and in perfect condition. You could take a look at pearl Gourami, or pwder blue gouramis, if you want.

Pictus cats and clown loaches do best kept with 3+ of their same kind.
 
and a pictus catfish?
If Discus aren't a good idea then what are some good tankmates for the gouramis?
My Kids are pretty set on the Gouramis so the tank will be built around them.
