Improve leg muscles...stationary bike?

Whenever i ride the stationary bike, after only like 10min my leg muscles (the ones above my knee) are burning so freakin' bad....I have like no leg strength for biking! I still pull thru and do the entire 45min cycling class, but it's basically hell! How long will it take for this to get better/what can I do to make my legs able to withstand this?
 
if the bike is not set-up the same as bicycle it will continue. when riding stationary you tend to also ride continuously. is the tension adjusted for warm-up? do you warm-up first. riding in pain too long isn't good it can cause more problems and stop muscle growth. without knowing your routines theres not much to suggest but talk to trainers.
