My dog, Lucky, is 2 and 1/2 and has some pretty annoying habits, which recently got worse. He is peeing on furniture( his bed area and downstairs), rubbing his butt on anything, hyper, demanding attention, jumping on couches and beds, barking and scratching at our doors when we are asleep, which is completely new started on wednesday. ( He was sleeping in the hall because my mom did not like him in the rooms, so we had to put him in the shed outside so we can sleep but I feel so bad for him and I'm concerned for him.) Please help, my mom is threatening to give him to a shelter and we have heated arguments over him. Anything you have for advice!!
(He is a bichon frise mix, I think, he is neutered, and is a small dog but he is sneaky in his habits. He is cute, fluffy, and sweet. I don't want him to go he's already been abandoned twice.)
Last time he was taken to the vet was in June of 09 for shots and march when he was neutered. he has only been to the groomer in June of 09 and December of 09. We walk him 4 times a day and feed him 1/2 c. of food at 3:00 pm. My brother has put him on the bed and has a couple of times let him sleep on the bed. My mom but mostly dad, denies all of the things on dogs I tell him. So annoying. Sometimes I'll say "he needs to go to the vet or he needs a tooth brush, Pedipaw,shampoo, and vitamins." he says "bullshit." They are so pigheaded they don't even take him to get groomed we wash and cut his hair, but I know that the groomers do that anal gland cleaning thing. UGH...! CAN YOU GIVE ADVICE FOR THE DOG AND A WAY TO GET THROUGH TO MY PARENTS!!!!!!
