...college tuition? My boyfriend went to prison for a few years. Since being released three years ago he has changed his life. He recently graduated from the University of Phoenix for an associates degree in IT work. He is scheduled to start his Bachelors program next week. While completing his associates degree he received financial aid and grants. Now his financial consoler is telling him he should have never qualified for the loans and he has to repay 40,000.00 (some being financial aid) dollars before they will even give him his degree (which he earned, graduated with a 3.5 GPA). Can someone please tell me if this is possible? It does not seem fair to me. Did the government not put into affect laws that help felons get an education. I know several felons that are attending the same college. Please help me or point in the direction to someone that can help. Thanks!
