IMAX - Is it any good

To anyone who has seen anything in IMAX is it any good (especially 3D). Preferably to people in Southampton as a new one has just opened but ive heard the screen is meant to be a bit smaller than usual IMAX screens but anyone who has generally scene a film in IMAX i would like to know your thoughts

I saw the Dark Knight at the IMAX after seeing it in a normal cinema and it was pretty damn awesome.

Haven't seen anything in 3D there yet; the whole gimmick hasn't really grabbed me anyway.
 
I'd say IMAX is a great way to see a movie. Well worth the extra. The screen is massive and because of the way the seats are arranged, you always get a good view of screen. The 3D is very impressive.

The only downside for some is that it's difficult to get in and out of, once the movie starts. Plus if you can't take your time leaving. The moment the first title appears, the sound goes off, the lights come on and a person with a mic asks you to leave!
