I own one of the new Intel iMacs, and for about 2 months I've been noticing a very weird sound coming from from i believe to be the hard drive. I can best describe the noise as a type of "gurgling, like a upset stomach."
I've owned the iMac for a little over 3 months now, but when i swear for the first month my mac was silent (Besides the normal sounds of a computers).
I've taken it to the Apple store where they did some tests on it, claiming it came up clear i took it home and still noticed the same noises, so i took it back and got the hard drive replaced, (Or at least i think they did...) and the drive is still making the disturbance.
The noise, (which isn't loud, just a mid-tone annoyance) can be heard when switching web pages, loading, and writing files, and things like that.
I've done some searches online and some say it's the seeking of the drive that's making the noise and that some drives are louder then others.
I guess my question is this, is the sound abnormal and does anyone else's hard drive make any odd sounds relative to this? Should i try convincing Apple for a new iMac?
Thank you in advance.
