Imac vista product key (boot camp)?

i recently installed vista on my imac with my with a gateway cd. everything is working great but i found something about putting an activation key and it said 25 days remaining. but when i installed vista i didn't come to a point where it said to put a key in. its weird i tried to keyfinders ; both gave me a key and they were the same i put the key in but it said invalid. so what now?
 
"What now" is that you you just said that you used Gateway's Vista installation CD meaning that the OS version is OEM. It didn't ask to put in a key is because manufactured computers don't need to be activated thus not requiring a key.

You used the same OEM CD on another computer and the hardware change triggers deactivation in Windows. Key finders don't work for Vista activation.
 
You have to buy a key, and it must be an OEM key as you have used an OEM DVD to install, the reason why it didnt ask for one during install is common for most OEM discs.
