Imac is frozen with gray screen?

I have an imac desktop. After installing some software updates and restarting the computer all I get now is a gray screen with the apple logo and a spinning circle. I have rebooted and unplugged the computer and everytime it starts up it stays on that screen. Please help!!! Thanks!
 
Try holding the power button down until it completely shuts off and make sure that you dont have anything plugged into it, then try turning it on again.
 
According to the different forums I went to..looks like the outlook is grayish...

Stands up with the brown coat,with geeky glasses standing with an stereotype cool looking "mac"..yes i'm a Pc and proud of it!
