Imac 17 inch Linux mint install?

hey any linux gurus
i have an imac 17 inch and i want to install linux on a triple boot
i have an ATI X1600 radeon and it always goes into the install and then the graphics fudge up and i cant proceed
i downloaded linux mint 4,0 darnya
