I am almost down with my YA novel but I am having a bit of a problem keeping it sounding young enough. The synopsis of my story is Memphis is a 17 year old Nephilim (half fallen angel/half mortal) who becomes enticed by Kate a 16 yr old mortal. Needless to say they have perils that threaten their relationship, I don't want to go into it right now, as it's not published.
What I would like help with is keeping it young sounding. As in hang out places that age group would be at? What they would be doing? What they are most interested in? After-school activities? How do they act when in love? Etc.
So if you are in the age group of 15-18 please give me some ideas so I know if what I have written is in sync with teens, as this is a YA novel.
