i'm writing a Teen/Young adult book: what do YOU like to read?

Hi :)

Ok so i was hoping you could help me, I'm writing a book and I'd like to write something that YOU want to read, so if you could answer my questions in as much detail as possible id be very very grateful :)

I write fantasy fiction, in the style of say, harry potter, twilight and wolf brother. What would you like to read about? characters, special powers/magic etc - what do you feel has been done to death and what are you longing to read but haven't found yet?

Also, talking about reading love scenes in teenage/young adult books (more young adult) do you want (obviously not graphic!) proper love scenes or ones that 'fade out' (like the twilight saga) do you think sex is too much (even described softly) or do you prefer just a good kissing scene?

If the main character is a 16 year old girl, and the love interest (a guy who is unobtainable at the moment) is 20 years old, would you relate to this? or would he be too old?

What books have you read that you absolutely love the characters in, and more importantly, what about them makes you feel connected with them? (perhaps for an example you like Jacob in twilight because he's naive and cheeky?)

.. add anything else you'd like to see or like NOT to see in a book please, just make sure it's fantasy fiction.

Thank you all, this is very very helpful to me and will get a mention in my Thank you page along with your user names if you give a detailed answer!
Thank you so far with all your answers, they are very helpful.

KK: i have written a good number of paragraphs to my book already and have the plot and sub-plots drafted out, i am just altering a few things here and there and developing the characters in more depth, i do not intend to write purely based on what others want - my writing comes form my heart and soul, if it didn't it would be boring and lifeless :) I was just inquiring with future readers as to what they would like to see in a book so that i can add to and take away things if and only if i agree also. Market research, that is all - and i very much appreciate everybody's input :)
