i am writing a young adult fantasy novel, the target age is 16-17, but can be as low as 14.
I'm considering putting in some black-and-white illustrations to show whats going on at that point in the story.
the reason i'm doing this is because, when i read a fantasy or sci-fi novel, i often find myself unable to visualize the scene as the author intended, or even visualize it at all. so i figure, if i put some good illustrations in, it will get my point across and keep the reader engaged.
please tell me if this is a good idea, cuz so far i'm not seeing a reason not to.
