...cheapest way to do it? I really would like to know how much money I should save up before I go? When the best time to go is? I'm from the United States so if I want to stay longer than three months do I need a visa? How do I get one? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!
 
Stay in hostels...
Go in the winter (cold, but fewer tourists!)
Save up as much as you possibly can! And bring a credit card just in case.
Transportation is really good, and if you get a student travel card you will get discounts on transportation as well as most museums, etc.

Have fun!!!!! Stay away from all the tourist attractions!
