I'm using the HD AV cables from my original xbox 360 for my new slim one?

and I have a Samsung SyncMaster T220 Widescreen 22 Inch LCD Monitor is it worth it for me to buy the HDMI cable and I'm using Philips FWC555 CD Audio Shelf System for sound i don't know a whole lot about this stuff thanks for the help
