I Have A Quick Question. i just bought a 91' teg like a week ago. The guy i bought it from said his brother put in a b18 engine in it but he wasn't sure what kinda cause it wasn't his.He was selling it for his brother .....kinda seemed weird but ran and sounded nice so i though whatever. My question is there and visual way of finding out what kind of b18 it is? Is there any kind of serial number i can look for?

Well... Integras gsr's had B18s in them stock. I don't know whats so special about what the seller's engine is...At any rate, you can find out what car the engine is from by looking for the vin number on the transmission. Go on google and search for "vin decoding" for acura and you can break the numbers down and it will tell you specifically what its from. If its not the motor that was originally in there, it probably is from another integra most likely.

theres a plate stamped on to the block next to where the trans gets mated to the motor......it should say one of the following........b18a1, b18b1, b18c1, or b18c5. and if you have the first gen teggys only one model came with a b in it and it was a b18a.
