All I remember is that the protagonist was a girl with long black hair that could turn into a panther. She had access to a secret series of caves or tunnels; I'm unsure of if she lived there. And there was a boy that was also a shape-shifter that came into the story. Or, at least, I'm fairly certain that there was a boy.
