i'm trying to find a childrens book I used to love when I was little.?

It had a green cover and I thought it was called the enchanted forest but i am unable to find it.
It was about a family that traveled and their son found a trap door to an enchanted forest. I think I remember there being a cat and some worm sort of creatures as well as some other things. I'm pretty sure in the end the son ends up having a family of his own..
I'd really love to find this book again, really appreciate if someone could help with the title and authour.

It wasn't "The Enchanted Wood" by Enid Blyton, was it?

That might not be it, I don't know, I haven't read it. But the name is similar...
