Im trying to figure out the Name of a book and the name of the author that wrote...

...it. Its a Time Travel Romance? This is a Time Travel Romance Book that I read back in 1998, I really dont have much to go off of so who ever can actually figure this one out is a genius. All I can remember is the girl whom is living in our time travels to Scotland (pretty sure its Scotland) I believe it is through a portal in a meadow/park, and finds her way to a castle where she meets a really mean Scottish man who is the master of the castle and he is mean to her but you know how all these books go eventually after all the fighting and drama they fall in love. I think maybe he even gets hurt at some point in the book? Maybe not again this was so long ago I dont remember...
I really dont know much else. I just know the significant part is the time travel part is she gets there via a portal in a meadow/park. Ive looked through Nora Roberts, Linda Howard "Son of the morning", Lynn Kurland "A dance through time", Karen Morning, Jude Deverux, Just skimming none of them seem to be it. I dont know... Im at a loss... HELP!!!
 
Not one I know but check out Madeline L'Engle as possible author.
Also, you might enjoy "Time for Patriots:, a time travel adventure published last year. Author's name in Thomas Hamilton.
