We all need it, now and again, but with more advances in technology its getting harder and harder to icolate yourself from all the other fucknuts that mess you up.
the telephone is the devil! It never goes an hour without ringing, and its usually the person I dispise phoning me, to ask me around to a party, or to chat about 'how things are going'
I try to bump them off as fast as possible but sometimes thay just wont put the goddanm phone down, and I cant because it'd be rude to slam it down mid sentence having jsut been invited to a party. You wouldnt belive the amount of times I say bye during a phone call, they just dont shut up! Its like they're getting payed

Okay, be a prick and tell them to fuck off. I do not care if it is my granny calling if I do not want to be on the phone I tell them I do not want to talk right now, goodbye. No matter what their damn reasons for calling.

You NEVER have to call anyone back, and if you do not call them back maybe they will get the hint and eventually stop calling you, it worked for me.

Turn the damn thing off... period. You do not need it on when you are at a restaurant or at a movie, etc. Unless you know someone in you family or something is dying turn it off, and turn it off when you sleep.

Again turn the fucking thing off.

Now that one is a bitch, but most of the time it is women they are watching not guys so don't worry too much. Over all your problems are you are too meek with these people, and you do not know how to turn things off. Be a dick, turn off the phone and webcam, and be happy.

You probably have a bigger chance of getting hit by a truck than of getting spied on by perverts or posted on you-tube. I guess it's the price we pay for so much conveniance, but it's really no more of a bother than any of the other dangers of modern life.

Besides, regarding everything else, it all has a simple solution; don't give friends your home telephone number, only your cellphone, and set your cellphone to silent (or just turn off the ringer when they call). Have multiple e-mail addresses, and keep from using your primary one to register on websites etc; only give it to trusted friends.

Another solution is just not to have annoying friends, just get rid of them, or ignore them. Politeness is good, to those who merit it, but being nice to annoying people is too much of a waste of energy and nerves; you'll just end up exploding all over the people who least deserve it, well; in my experiance.

Yeah, you're on CCTV 150 times a day, as are like 50 million other people, why would anyone notice you? You're just a face in the crowd, so you're pretty safe... unless you do something retarded, then you will probably be ridiculed all over the internet, but yeah, just don't do stupid things and you'll probably remain anonymous.

Anyways, it's not so bad, all in all it's a double edged sword, ease of communication vs. abuse of communication etc. Then again, I think we still have more anonymity today than ever before, like when people lived in smaller communities and everyone knew everything about everyone else.

Very true, I guess its just a little thing that bugs me. I just dont like the idea of not really knowing my actions are being recorded and archived.

Yeah, it is a huge invasion of privacy, and the idea that someone can retain footage of you without your permission or knowledge is quite disturbing. I guess we all just have to take solace in the idea that it's a huge world and no one is really paying attention. Nothing else can be done, other than becoming a hermit.

But yes, I too often worry about stuff coming back to haunt me 20 years down the line.

I just screen my calls.. Thats one of the advances of technology:P If I don't want to talk some some assclown I just don't answer it. If its an emergency they'll leave a message in which you can choose to reply to at your own whim. If anything technology now has made it easier to avoid people.. atleast from my view. And for the sick fuckers watchin you jerk it in the shower.. I dunno what to say.

Edit*

Think of the girls who're on Whyte and Red Mile here in Calgary/Edmonton.. They run around streaking while strange men grope them. Now say one of them goes to get a job in the future I wonder how that's going to help them.Hah!

Loved the rant. Don't forget Skype, and 14 kajillion types of instant messaging, and the cameras on traffic lights, and computer monitoring at work, and ...
