i'm thinking of starting an astronomy club..any ideas?

I would like to start an astronomy club next year in high school but i'm not sure what we should do besides study the planets & stuff.....any ideas of places we could go (i know we could could go to the observatory) & do you think people would join?

You could plan 'star parties' at night to get people to go out and look at the stars, the moon, whatever planets are up, maybe a comet or meteor shower. There's probably a local community astronomy club in the area that would be happy to help out - those guys usually have pretty cool telescopes they'll let you look through. You could even get a small telescope for your school and learn how to use it.
