im thinking about headers for my 99 dodge ram?

i have the 5.9 in it... headers are probly a lil later down the road.. right now im savin up for true dual cherrybombs w/ high flow cats...

just want to know what to expect with headers and what the differnece between shortys and lt headers are and what would be the pros and cons for both.. i dont race my truck i just want it to sound good and get better mpg.. and of coursei want it to look and sound badass
 
You cant put headers on that and pass emissions. The O2 sensors wont be able to monitor anything. Just get a single in, dual out cat back flowmaster system installed.
 
Cherry bombs make a car sound cheap and fake. get a Muffler. Shorty headers will give more torque which makes truck quicker and with borla perfiormance mufflers will sound "Real". Get Ceramic headers as will increase performance by keeping engine cool. You will not see shorty headers ehaust but is worth it. It will cost about 600.00 installed.
