Hello, I am a 25 year old female, who has been having repeated episodes of feeling like my body is shutting down as if i'm about to black out. These symptoms are in order of how I experienced them a majority of the time. Burning/tingling warm feeling between my eyes traveling to the back of my head. Severe dizziness and a sensation of trembling internally ( out of control) then my vision starts to blurr and I feel as thought I'm going to black out of completely shut down. This began happening 4 months ago. It happened one time back then, here we are 4 months later it began to happen again, with repeated episodes one right after the other. It has happened to me almost every other day if not every day. This is extremely frightening every time it happens. I'm afraid I have a serious medical condition, but the doctors keep telling me it is panic disorder. I don't understand. I only panicked about this after these physical symptoms began and I could not stop them or explain them. I have been to several diff doc now and they keep concluding that it is panic attack I am so frustrated what else can I do?

heather ann: Have you been to a neurologist? Start there if you haven't and have them do an EEG and an MRI to make sure there's nothing in your brain/head causing these issues. The EEG will be able to detect if these are seizures you're having.

My next recommendation is to see an endocrinologist and get your hormones checked. Hormones control your brain more than you might know. We live in a toxic world and we're exposed to so many contaminants and they mess with our hormones. I started having seizures at menopause and it's all due to Estrogen Dominance. The estrogen is increased in our bodies by chemicals, perfume, cigarettes, gasoline, fluorescent lights, wood fires, you name it!!!!!! Even though you're only 25 you could still have it.

Keep track of when these episodes are happening and see when in your menstrual cycle they're happening. See if they're more before, during and after your cycle. Keep them on a calendar so you can show the doctor when they're happening.

Get an allergy test done to make sure these things aren't happening because you're allergic to something. You can also try taking some Vitamin B6 and B12 supplements. The help with the nervous system. MSG is a big problem in people that have seizures.

Another problem could be exposure to EMF's - electromagnetic fields. If you're using cell phones, cordless phones , computers, TV and video games, they all contribute to the added EMF's and they could upset your head.

Keep track and see if they happen more around the full moon and new moon.

Are you under alot of stress and not getting enough sleep? If so, that could be doing something as well.

It also sounds like it could be vertigo. Research that. And lastly, for now, get your blood sugars checked to make sure it's not diabetes related. Good luck.

Thank-you so much for you reply. I appreciate it. I have had an MRI approx. 2 years ago. My doc didnt suggest another one because she considered that recent. I am due to see her soon so I am going to press the issue of having another one. I just don't consider 2 years recent. My hormones were checked as well as blood sugar. I have also had an ultrasound of my heart. I've done extensive research on the internet and the most of the so called symptoms of panic disorder they describe I feel I have experienced. I'm just concerned with the fact I experience the physical symptoms they describe ( Burning numbness in my head, traveling from between my eyes to the back) then the severe dizziness, sudden shortness of breath ( as well as choking feeling) hot flash and faintness. I also have a hard time concentrating and feel as if i am falling down and that my body is shutting down. I usually don't faint and this sensation will come out of nowhere and last about 10 - 15 seconds of continued severity until it backs down. Then i'll begin to feel several separate components of the attack separate from one another and with varying severity. It's really crazy that they consider this to be harmless and just panic attack. I am confused;(
