...can talk to someone? I formed RSD a few years ago after I was hurt on the job and had mutiple surgeries that just made everything worse. I was disabled and on disability for 5 years. I had a pain pump implant put in and got well enough to go back to work. However, I have a morphine pain pump and my job is a truck driver. The laws state that I can drive a truck but no one will hire me? I had a job through a friend but because of this recession I was laid off. My wife of 11 years cheated on me and now we are divorced.
I recently went to get a job and was hired but I didn't tell the doctor that was giving me a physical about the pump and he found it so now he won't pass me to work because I with held the information. The reason I didn't tell him is because if the company finds out they won't hire me. I know this for a fact. When I came off of disability I applied at 6 jobs in a row and was hired at all of them. I told them I had a morphine pain pump and I heard every excuse from our insurance company won't let us hire you to we can't take the risk. They are discriminating against me. One of the companies was Schneider (the big orange trucks on the road). They had a real gem. They said we have a no knock out drug policy. If you take a knock out drug then you can't drive for us for 24 hours.
To put this in perspective for you, the amount of morphine that is sprayed directly on a nerve in my lower back (leading to my right foot) is LESS than an eye drop per 24 hour period and there are 5 other drugs mixed in with that so the amount of morphine is minuscule. I can pass the DOT drug test with flying colors.
This isn't the whole story just a snap shot of what I'm going through.
I'm tired, of fighting these jerks and I just want a freaking job. The last job I worked at before I was laid off, I had no tickets, no accidents and I won the safe driver of the year award, If that isn't a slap in the face.......
I'm seriously considering suicide and just want to talk with someone who might understand my plight and maybe give me an answer to my problem or something. I don't know anymore.
Does anyone know of a chat room for depressed people?
