I'm selling my motorcycle before I receive my title in the mail--How can I

Anybody that buys that bike from you is asking for problems.

If a bank had it that would be different, but since DMV has it in process, anything can happen.

What if DMV sends it back with a problem?

A bill of sale is nearly worthless in many places, Nevada doesn't really look at them, they take your title
and scrutinize the hell out of it. They give your bill of sale back to you after glancing at it.

provide a bill of sale for the bike? I have a motorcycle that I just bought and transferred the title to my name. However, I am selling the bike right away and will not receive the official title (I have a temp) for a few weeks. How can I provide the buyer with a bill of sale of some sort and assurance that he/she will receive the title from me?

You can't sell something you don't have the title to. Anyone willing to do business that way is setting themselves up for failure. You could run into a host of issues with getting the title and being able to turn it over to someone else. The whole time you are 'waiting for the title' you will have to keep stringing the individual along and they will waste valuable riding time. Just not worth it. Assurance they will receive the title...you could get reassurance from the buyer they will pay for it. If that doesn't work for you then an assurance you will give up the title shouldn't work either. just not good business.
