i'm really wondering what the connection between souls and reflections is...?

this questions been bugging me for days now, what is the connection and history between souls and reflections? if anyone can answer or show me a link please, just wondering where the history of this all came from. like the myth that if vampires were real, they wouldnt have a reflection in the mirror and they wouldnt come out in pictures. or when people refuse to get their picture taken because their afraid it'll steal their soul. if anyone has a clue, please post it
