I'm rather apolitical, but what is this crap about we cant leave Iraq because

it would cause chaos? Chaos? Isn't that what has been happening for 5 years? It appears to be like Viet Nam: no good reason to be there and no "honorable way out"..
As for terrorism, that is endemic to the mideast. Are we afraid the Arabs will follow us home if we leave?
Let's face it: we're there because of the oil. Tha oil companies are getting fat and Bush/Cheney are oilmen. It's a no-brainer, folks.
I'm not a liberal or a democrat. I really can't align myself with either party at the moment, but we do need to get out of that cesspool into which we dump our kids to die for oil.
 
One thing is certain if we remove our people and troops from the area then they will have no one to shoot at that is American! At least from our perspective we will find organization and stability, not chaos!
 
Well, the people who are confidently predicting disaster if we pull out of Iraq are the very same people who predicted disaster if we didn't go into Iraq in the first place. In other words, yes, it's a no-brainer.

The first answer here just continues the abject stupidity. Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. Get a brain, girl. They were Saudis. And, not sent by any government.

The continued terror in Iraq by the USA is sick. Only a very horrible man could allow this to continue.
 
If you remove the supporting walls of a house, you have to replace them or the house will fall down. Even if removing the walls was a mistake, you still have to replace them.
If you remove a country's government, you have to replace it before you can leave the country.
And the invasion wasn't for oil. If we wanted Iraqi oil, we could have bought it cheaper. Other countries did.
It was because we were attacked AT HOME by Islamist extremists, and the old Iraqi government was helping out a lot of Islamist extremists.
 
Chaos in Iraq is sure to happen if troops are gone home.Total chaos because Iran has troops ready to cross the border and Syria won't just stand watching. Them Arabs are not following.They have already started it a long time ago.Coming here. As for the oil thing if the gasoline addiction is reduced maybe the oil cartels won't get any richer no more.

There were plenty of people like you after WW1. If you noticed we stayed and fought the Germans several years after WW2 was declared over and rebuilt the country. I guess you would have history repeat itself.
How have the oil companies really benefited from the war?. It makes no difference to them, actually the amount of money they had to spend on rebuilding and update the fields, they have lost money.
