I'm on my account on my mac, but I forgot my password so I am afraid to close it!...

...What should I do?!?!?!?!? Is there a way I can change my password without having to put in my old one? Can I delete my password without knowing my old one!? See I left my laptop open last night, but I forgot my password so now I am afraid to close it because I don't remember my password and my hint is useless! So is there a way without the discs and all that $h** to change my password or delete it?
please help!!!!
