Since Alltel was bought out by Verizon and all my friends use Verizon can I send and receive pictures via text? I don't want to pay every time I open a picture.
Not every Alltel customer was taken over by Verizon, so i would make sure that you are now officially a Verizon customer. If you are, any texts to Verizon customers just comes out of your monthly allowance.
I have the same thing and sometimes it charges me if I'm sending/receiving picture messages to my friends with newer Verizon phones. My friends that have older Verizon phones aren't a problem, and I don't get charged for sending/receiving picture messages to/from them.
