im on a high protein ..medium but healthy carb diet....how many grams of protein...

...should i eat a day? I'm about 180 lbs ..5'6...i have a pearish hour glass shape..so i'm leaner up top and heavier bottom...i wanna lose about 40 lbs...i use to be 135-140 and i felt that was the weight that was right for my body...not too skinny or too chunky...anyways i think this is the diet for me because high protein really does curb and satisfy my appetite...even when i indulge a bit i dont feel heavy like how eating too much carb makes u feel...for instance..the other day i ate 3 tilapia fish..so thats about 6 oz...at a 100 cal each....22 grams of protein each...and than i ate another 4 oz of chicken..thats about another 22 grams of protein.....135 cal...plus i ate like a couple of bites of wheat pasta....i oven baked both fish and chicken with olive oil and spice....so i'd estimate that at one sitting i ate about 550 cal...and over 90 grams of protein...i felt full but not heavy....and i didnt get that lazy feeling after u've eaten too much....

let me tell u i am an eater....i could eat like constantly throughout the day..even at 135 i was eating a lot but i also work out a lot too...anyways when i stopped being active...the lbs just started packing on....i could eat low cal but i cant seem to drop the lbs and i feel heavy all the time even when im hungry....although i still didnt introduce exercising back into my life....i just find it odd that i can eat all i want and just exercising helps me maintain the weight....

anyways sorry fro ranting...i figured this is a good diet for me but how many grams of protein should i eat to maximumn weight loss? how many grams of healthy whole grain of carbs should i eat a day? how many calories total should i eat a day?
 
I think 1-1.5 grams per kilogram of body weight if you are not exercising, is sufficient. If training quite vigorously, up to 2g to build some muscle.

Spread it over the day and supplement with vegetables and fruit.
