I'm on a 3 year plan with Fido. When can I renew?

I'm half way through the contract and I want to get a new phone (with the discount for renewals). I know you get a new phone when you renew but when is it possible to renew the contract? I've been told that Rogers lets you renew after a year and get a new phone, but I'm not sure about Fido.
