I'm not sure how to word this but I will try.. When we cry?

When we cry its normally because of something sad, pain or something happy right.. What happens internally that makes us cry like we find something sad how does our brain order our tear ducts? And also when we laugh and find something funny how does our brain know to laugh? I would like a biological answer to this its ben bugging me for ages lol xx
