I'm not late can they reposses my car and leave me and kids stranded in anouther town?

I'm buying a car from family and got in a fight. They repossessed my car when i'm not late ,and left my small children and me stranded in another town. Is this legal?
I have paid $4011.00, in last 8 months on car. Never been more than 2 days late ever.I am taking over payments cause she couldnt afford them.
 
As I understand it, they can take your car away if they find out that somehow you lied about something when you applied for the loan to get the car. My friend lied about where he worked when he got his car. He worked somewhere else than where he said. He had the car for a month and even though he made the payment for that month, they went to his house and took it. It seems that the finance company could make up some stupid excuse and take it from you just to show you that they can, since you got in a fight with them. That's too bad. I hope it works out for you.

I think you should ask a lawyer and try to settle it in court. Of course, we at yahoo answers don't know the argument or the other side of the story. I think you should sue but that depends on the argument. Hopefully the family just got mad and back off of a deal already made.
